Learn to surf in Bali

Bali is one of the best places where you can learn how to surf, because of the location it is possible to surf year around in warm waters which makes it easier to spend time in the water.

Beginner surf lesson in Berawa

On the west coast of Bali there are plenty of surf spots, many which are great for beginners. Berawa beach is located in Canggu, offers surfing for all levels because it is an average reef-and-sand surf spot. There are few to non hazards in the water, so you don't have to worry about anything else than surfing.

Beginners will start out in the whitewash, where the water is up to the waist, to practice how to stand up on the board. Usually it takes one to three lessons to learn the basics before being able to paddle out to the lineup, this is further out where the waves have not broken yet.

For intermediate surfers Berawa Beach is a good place to learn how to catch many waves, and to start practicing on manoeuvring the surfboard while surfing. This surf spot is not as crowded as other surf spots in the area, which is perfect for those getting nervous around big crowds in the waters.

After surfing there are a couple of great restaurants on the beach, where you can grab something to eat and drink, while watching other people surf. Because of the location, Berawa Beach offers the perfect sunset every day around 6 PM, which is a must see while staying in Bali on vacation.
