From Sanur up to the northern parts of the east coast, are plenty of surf spots. These surf spots works best during wet season when the trade winds hit the west coast, but it is possible to surf year around. There are many different types of waves from reef to beach breaks, varying from beginner to advanced waves, with most being longer right handers but also having a couple of left handers. From Canggu area it takes around 45-1.5 hours to the surf spots with a scooter and if you go with a car a little bit longer but more comfortable. If you want to book a surf trip to east bali, we recommend to be ready to go early morning and come back around 12, unless you want to surf two sessions and eat in between you can book a whole day trip.

West Coast Bali

Ranging from Kuta all the way to Medewi is west coast Bali. These surf spots works best during the dry season, because during the wet season strong winds might break the waves. But on good days you can also surf here during wet season. Most of the surf breaks more to the south west are beach breaks with sand beaches, but you can also find reef or rock surf breaks when going more to the north along the coast.

There are plenty of beginner waves but also nice waves for intermediate and advanced surfers. Canggu is located on the west coast, which means to the most surf spots it is only around 30 minute drive with a scooter. If you are staying in Canggu it is easy to do a morning surf session somewhere in the area, or then if you want to go for a longer surf trip we can go to Medewi which is far up to the north with a long left hander.

Nusa Dua, Jimbaran and Uluwatu have plenty of surf breaks, with amazing surf year around. Most of the surf spots are more advanced because of the breaks being on reef, but when the swell is smaller it is possible for intermediates to surf the main breaks. In the Nusa Dua area and Jimbaran you can find beginner and intermediate surf spots also in bigger swell. Depending on which side of the Bukit you are surfing it is possible to surf year around here, with the more southern breaks working in smaller swell during the wet season. We are located in Canggu but if you need a surf guide to show you around the Bukit it is also possible, not taking too long with the scooter in the mornings.
